Infographic of poisonous plants for pets

Many people want to design the perfect garden for our pets or have a flat with green corners suitable for everyone. But do you know the 20 most common plants that are most toxic to your pets?

Our pets are curious by nature and, at times, may be tempted to lick or chew plants and trees. Unfortunately, not everything they explore this way is harmless, so it is important to know which plants could cause problems.

1

Lilies

The entire plant, but especially the flowers of Lilium, are considered highly toxic to cats. Even ingesting very small amounts of the plant can cause severe kidney damage, as well as vomiting or drooling.

2

Cycas revoluta

All parts of Cycas revoluta are poisonous, but the seeds or "nuts" contain the highest concentration of toxins. Ingesting just one or two seeds can cause very serious effects, including vomiting, diarrhoea, depression, seizures and liver failure.

Schefflera

Schefflera and Brassaia Actinophylla contain calcium oxalate crystals that can cause oral irritation, excessive drooling, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, and severe burning and irritation of the mouth, lips and tongue in pets that ingest them.
