The wonderful world of plants is becoming increasingly important for a variety of reasons, not only environmental ones, but cultural ones too. As a garden centre, we’d like to encourage that conversation and make our premises a place where customers and staff can learn, grow and meet. Creating a community space where plant lovers feel welcome and inspired.
Definitely, we’re seeing more and more people trying to be a little more intentional about the plants and pots they choose, and about how they contribute to the landscape in a more natural way according to the season. It’s no secret that since the beginning of the pandemic, interest in gardening and the need to connect with nature have increased on a large scale.
As part of our green initiatives, since October 2021 at Eiviss Garden we have completely eliminated the use of chemical plant protection treatments in our production nursery in Santa Gertrudis, replacing them with eco-friendly treatments. Eco-friendly disease and pest treatments are those that prevent, eliminate and control the above through methods that do not harm the environment. In other words, we are returning to traditional cultivation.

A 100% eco-friendly approach to the plants we grow is our sustainable commitment to the island’s environment, our team and the products we offer our customers.
When we talk about chemical plant protection products, we are referring to the well-known insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, among others; which are not only harmful to the ecosystem, but also to the health of any living being. There are many advantages we gain from using eco-friendly plant protection products:
They are not dangerous to the health of any living being or to the environment
Some help plants adapt quickly and increase their defences, making them more resistant to their surroundings
They promote biodiversity by harnessing nature's self-regulation
They help with pest control
They maintain and improve soil health and quality
They are much more effective in the long term
Plants achieve better quality thanks to their ecological process
In our production nursery you will find a wide variety of plants. Among them, bougainvilleas, aromatic plants, succulents, oleanders, lantanas, daisies, surfinias, teucriums, atriplex, pittosporum, eugenias, elaeagnus, westringia, evergreen shrubs… It is as easy as looking for the Plantas de Ibiza label in our Garden Centre and flower shops.
We can only hope that many more businesses and private individuals will join this type of initiative.
