Plants in your bedroom? There are many differing opinions on this subject, but at Eiviss Garden we love filling every room with greenery, and we're going to tell you about all the positive factors that come with it.

Why is it good to have plants in your bedroom?

Having plants in your bedroom, besides being a wonderful decorative element full of life, can help improve the quality of your sleep, reduce stress levels and create a relaxing atmosphere.

Plants absorb carbon dioxide and other pollutants, purifying the air and creating a healthier environment. They also help remove moisture from the room, which helps keep the air in your bedroom fresh and clean. Plants can also reduce noise levels, adding a sense of peace and tranquillity.

Air-purifying plants ideal for the bedroom

Some people do not like having plants in their bedrooms for a variety of reasons. Some worry about the amount of maintenance they require, such as regular watering and occasional pruning. Others may be sensitive to pollen or other allergens that some plants can produce.

1. Reduce stress levels

We live in a world where finding calm is an almost impossible mission. Trying to relax and forget the worries of the day is key to enjoying a peaceful sleep.

Several studies indicate an increase in positivity and a reduction in stress from having indoor plants in experiments carried out in workspaces. Even so, the same can be said about your sleeping space.

2. Improve sleep quality

Where can I place plants in my bedroom?

Your bedroom represents you and is the most private area of your home; plants are a clever way to bring the natural world into your home so that you can enjoy the benefits of nature.

This is a very personal decision, but if we want to maintain good harmony, we can place plants in many different places in your bedroom, depending on the size and type of plant.

We would recommend placing larger plants in corners or near windows, so they receive proper sunlight, and smaller ones on windowsills and shelves, especially hanging plants, which will fill your relaxation space with balance.

It has been proven that having a few plants in your bedroom can improve sleep quality. For example, lavender has long been praised as a natural method to help you sleep. A study found that inhaling lavender while sleeping has the potential to improve sleep quality. You can do this with lavender essential oil, a lavender plant next to your bed, or by boiling dried lavender and leaving the pan open in the room so you can breathe in its vapour.

If you are in good health, having the plants mentioned above in your room can only improve your quality of rest. But if you have health issues, particularly those affecting breathing, for example pollen allergies or reactions to compounds from the soil or the plant, it is probably better to get rid of the greenery, or at least replace it with one that produces extra oxygen at night. If you are not sure which plants may be harmful to your health, you can ask our staff, who will be happy to help.
