Can Salinas is a residential gardening project located in the protected surroundings of the Ses Salines Natural Park, in Ibiza. The landscape intervention starts from a clear premise: to create a garden fully integrated into the landscape, with a botanical palette that is low in water use and distinctly Mediterranean in character.

The design, developed by the Paralelo 38 studio, was carried out by Eiviss Garden, taking care of every phase of the process: from plant selection to installation on site. Most of the species used come from our own production nursery, ensuring climatic adaptation, sustainability and ecological coherence.

The structure of the garden is organised around mature specimens of olive (Olea europaea), pomegranate (Punica granatum) and holm oak (Quercus ilex), creating the feel of an established Mediterranean woodland. These species, perfectly adapted to Ibiza's climate, bring shade, volume and permanence to the whole.

The understorey is made up of aromatic plants, herbaceous species and grasses with low water needs, creating a naturalised, dynamic and resilient garden in the face of salinity, wind and the high temperatures typical of the area.

The paths were laid with jabre, a natural gravel that promotes soil permeability and enhances the project's organic aesthetic. The sinuous layout invites visitors to move through the space at a leisurely pace, discovering different settings and viewpoints.

Can Salinas does not seek to impose itself on the landscape. It seeks to become part of it. It is an exercise in sustainable landscaping in Ibiza, where the vegetation, the soil and the architecture converse with the protected surroundings of Ses Salines.
